Immersion in water is a great way of reducing the stresses that pregnancy can place on the body. Many women suffer musculo-skeletal discomfort that can be relieved by the sense of weightlessness that aqua can give. Recent studies have shown that maintaining exercise can reduce or prevent the discomfort of back pain in pregnancy and aqua provides a low impact, safe way of doing this. For post natal clients, the using of Aquastrength bar bells and leg fins within provides a challenging and effective water workout. A perfect way to ease back into fitness.
Bodybump aqua is currently the only pregnancy/post natal specific aqua class on the Mornington Peninsula.
A new class will be starting at Input Fitness in Frankston in late October 2017 on a Wednesday evening at 7pm. $20 per session.
Even though there are some swimming segments within the class, swimming confidence is not required as the pool is shallow enough to stand in. We advise you to bring bathers, a towel, goggles, a water bottle and a smile. Classes include:
A fun and friendly environment
Aerobic exercise using water resistance
Circuit sessions with a variety of water based equipment and floats
Pelvic floor work
The 'pregnancy float' experience
